Your website needs to answer two questions:
1. What do I want my customer to FEEL
2. What do I want my customer to DO
Now, go to your website and tell me if your customer can find what they want in less than three clicks.
That's ok. I will wait.
Three truths and a lie
Your website is your digital storefront
True. A website is a great opportunity to show people who you are and what it's like to do business with you! It can help you establish trust, connect with customers outside of your local area and bring in additional revenue when you can't be in your store.
You have to sell every product you offer on your website
False. Last time I checked, you didn't go into business to hate your life. Just because you sell something in the store doesn't mean you have to list it on your site or provide free shipping. If you don't want to do shipping, don't. This is your business. Act accordingly.
Your website needs to be functional
True. It's important to understand your customer and provide for their needs on your website. What's the point of having a website just to confuse and frustrate your customer? You know how to design your store to enhance traffic. Your site is no different!
Your website needs to be searchable
True. Creating a website that is optimized for search engines is a must. Do you have to know all the techy stuff? Certainly not. Knowing what makes a website searchable is my job! What you do need to have a handle on is what is your customer typing in to find you?
Brass tacks: will this cost you one kidney ... or two?
I hope that's not how you see it. I see design as an investment in confidence. Kind of like buying a new outfit for a special occasion. You want to let people know what you're about right from the first impression.

Let's take a look at the process
Phase one
Intake and File Sharing
When you book a service with me, we will have a one hour intake meeting so I can learn about you and what your needs are. After the meeting, I will share access to your Google Drive for you to start compiling the information I need to get started like logos and images. Be prepared to write some things about your business. This helps me create a website that looks and sounds like you.
Phase two
Design
Once I have all of your materials in the Drive, I will begin the design. I will be asking you for administrator access to your website host and your domain host. Don't worry, I will send instructions. Regular interaction through email or text (your preference) is expected. Progress is dependent on your feedback!
Phase three
Feedback and Implementation
When the website is 90 percent finished, I will send it to you for feedback. There are often questions that need to be answered in order to move forward. This is when you will likely have things that you didn't think of before that you want to add. We will also work on getting your Google Analytics, Google Business Profile and Facebook tracking attached to your site. This requires a little bit of hands on work on your end. Again, I will send instructions.
Phase four
Launch
Once I have all feedback in hand, I will create a punch list of loose ends that need to be finished up and all connections double checked. I will go through your site to be sure that it's mobile friendly before we launch. We will have a one hour launch session on video chat to show you the ropes of your new website! Congratulations!
